The Philosophy

Why this exists

Most premed consulting costs between $4,000 and $10,000. That price point reflects who can afford access. Talcott Ridge was built on the belief that a thoughtful, recent applicant who has navigated the current AMCAS landscape can offer more relevant guidance than a physician who applied two decades ago, at a fraction of the cost.

This is not a firm. It's a one-person advising practice run by a medical student. That means limited capacity, honest turnaround times, and a genuine interest in your success. You might wonder why I do this -- i.e, what's in it for me? Besides the fulfillment of helping my peers, it allows me to expand my professional network and provides a meager source of income to fund other career activites such as research and public academia.

A note on capacity: Talcott Ridge is run by one person alongside a full medical school curriculum. Free-tier reviews are completed on a best-effort basis and may be delayed or, in periods of high workload, incomplete. This is disclosed upfront so you can plan accordingly. Paid-tier submissions receive priority scheduling and a response commitment.
